The Torch Has Been Passed

From…………..

http://www.victoriaadvocate.com/weblogs/in-the-know/2010/dec/07/the-torch-has-been-passedwait-where-is-it/

Any person who favors revolution needs to have his/her head examine. This attitude reminds of a punk kid picking up his ball and run home. I had asked a question months ago, so I feel like I need to ask it again. If this nation is in a dire situation, then why hadn’t you put pen to paper and “petition the government to redress grievances”. I bet I will not get an answer because that would prove my point.

It is a ashamed that some men in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s on the Vic AD site didn’t have the wisdom to offer solutions or guidance, only to make cat calls. Where is the wisdom? Where is the GOD GIVEN WISDOM?????

Someone also mention the “sins” in Victoria politics and governance. Victoria, like other surrounding towns, is based on community’s passiveness, laziness, and on the Preps of the community’s powerful families. Being a member of a said family takes favor over merit, hard work, etc. Which is why there are too many problems in this area. Problems like the high drop out rate, education increase, local economics, crime, and the lack of jobs. A college drop out shouldn’t have the power to ruin Higher Education.

The failure of a community, a state, and a nation is based on the sins of the people, not one man, one party, or one class. This is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. President John Kennedy said in his Inaugural address, “that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans." I have to wonder “what happen to the torch”? Where is the torch? WHAT HAPPEN TO THE LEADERSHIP !?!?!?!? And What happen to the wisdom??? What is wrong in a nation, can be corrected at a home!!!!

This is why I have respect for people like Matt Ocker, Mayoral Candidate Chelle Nickerson, the late Yorktown City Manager Marcus Puente, and other young leaders in this area. Because they put their money where their mouths are. They have the torch, but it is the unwise, the corrupt, and the foolish who made attempts to splash water on it.

As to the person who is not bellyaching revolution and other foolishness on another blog. Here is a quote for you.

“It is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things.”
-Henry David Thoreau.

The Real Matt Ocker

I would like to introduce you to Mr. Matt Ocker, the Republican candidate for County Judge. Over the past couple of months , Ocker prides himself of being a man of honor and wisdom. His words speaks for themselves. He talks about the Nastiness and Lies, but lets judge Mr. Ocker by his own words.

Before I begin here are some of my sources.

Alternative Immigration Policy

For the pass twenty or thirty years , the topic of immigration has been a hot button issue filled with emotions and fear. Liberals and conservatives had exploited the issue that no one is talking with one other, but pass each other.
We allow our political prophets, social demagogues, hate talk radio, and media hacks govern debate, while blocking the gateway towards a meaningful solution. Three years ago, Speaker Nancy Pelosi hinted to a crowd, that a Nazi-type force would take away children etc. There are certain groups and individuals urging Hispanics, legal or non-legal, to birth more children to reclaimed the “lost lands”. On the other side, there are those who are fearful of losing their “racial superiority” to the influx of Hispanic. One example is Conservative “preacher” Jesse Lee Peterson, who uses the now-closed website “Choose Black America” to pit one minority against another.
The law passed in Arizona is based on politics pure and simple. One would have to ask if the border was so bad, why didn’t the governor, as commander-in-chief of the state militia, the state police, and the national guard use that power to curl the problem? It seems to the author of this blog, that this is nothing more than political football in an election year. The governor ,Jan Brewer, had all of her constitutional duties to stop border violence. The newly minted governor was down in the polls for an election to a full term. Now her ratings are up which cause Sheriff Joe Arpaio to drop out of the governor’s race. Texas State Rep Leo Berman suggested bringing the law to Texas since Texas Rick Perry refuse to act. Although Perry did convinced Breman to stay out of the GOP primary in a promise to fix the problem.
The author of this blog opposed this law not because of FEAR and DISHONESTLY, BUT BECAUSE of a SENSE OF HISTORY and anger towards a certain mentality. In many ways, history repeats itself. One example is the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 . The law prohibited Northern states and cities from hiding escaping slaves from the south. Slave owners, bounty hunters, and even the police recaptured lost slaves. However, free Northern Blacks was not immune as some were sent south toward tyranny . The 4th amendment must be protected; the 14th amendment must be honored, and the Civil Rights Acts must be obeyed. Having said that, I do not mean supporting illegal immigration and open borders.
From the Adams-Onis Treaty to the Gadsden Purchase of 1853, a group of people were caught in the middle as borders move over across them. A certain pride develops in response to land grant issues and prejudice. People come to this land to better themselves and the next generation. However there are those who seek to exploit them. Those wanted semi-slavery and to use the weakness in border to bring death and chaos.
Real solutions is needed, but not from liberals, the unions, and social groups. Not from conservatives, the country club elites, and hate talk radio. Here are real solutions from me.

1) Build temporary wall, Physical or laser sensor, along the Southern Border for 20 years.
2) Create a task force group to combat drug lords and coyotes on the border.
3) Heavily fine cities and counties that aid illegal immigration.
4) Punish any police officer or citizen who violates the 4th amendment , the 14th amendment and the Civil Rights Acts.
5) Punish those who mistreat illegal aliens.
6) Heavy fine, punish, or deport an illegal .
7) A child (16 and under) born to an illegal is America citizen under the 14th amendment, he or she shall be deported with the parents.
8) Ease the pathway for citizenship. Limit immigration from Eastern World,
9) Create more guest worker programs.
10) Create a American Foreign Legion to encourage or draft Illegal alien males to become citizens
11) End NAFTA and place high tariffs on countries that produce illegal immigration.
12) Granted the government to sue Corporations and businesses that hire Illegal immigrants.
13) Land grants from the 1800’s must be studied, honored and carried out, if possible.

A New Education

If education is so important to us all, our nation wouldn’t be plagued by high drop out rates, gangs, and shootings. The education system in Texas and in the nation is nothing more than a building block for the prison industrial complex.

Conservatives want one to believe that outside forces are the blame. They blame failures on pop culture, music, birth control, and condoms. While displaying half-baked , alarmist, and demagogue attitude towards a “minority” points of view. Conservatives, in recent years, argued that the solution for teen pregnancy is “Abstinence Only” programs. They also believe in mandatory drug testing as a solution to the drug and gangs problems with “No Tolerance Rules” and school uniforms. This does not encourage freedom and privacy of the student nor respect the rights of the parent.

Minorities, within the next coming decade, will become the majority. Social conservatives and the naive are alarmed by “multiculturalism” and believe that learning about America’s past sins is evil. To prove this point, one must look at the conservative led Texas Board of Education. Since late summer 2009, conservatives proposed that figures like Caesar Chavez and Justice Thurgood Marshall to be removed or grossed over in textbooks. If they can remove a figure a like Chavez, one can wonder what might to happen to Martin Luther King or Fredrick Douglas?

Liberals, progressives, and unions believe throwing money at the problem is the solution. They blame it on the lack of funding, a proper diet, and even parents. They, like conservatives, display Elitist attitude of helplessness. The liberal approach to sex education is as dangerous as that of conservatives. The approach argues that sex should be “taught” by actively applying condoms on fruit, while handing out contraceptives without parental involvement or a lesson in personal responsibility.

Another approach on gangs and the drop out rate. One example is a tragic case in Chicago, where a young African American man was killed by a group of thugs. This person, Derrion Albert, was an A student and would have been the next American success story. To make matters worse, a city council member told a CNN reporter (Don Lemon), that the lack of funding and social services are the blame. What about personal responsibility, the value system, and community awareness?

Either we as a society, look at the problems head on or we shall enslave ourselves. Here are my proposal to contribute.

1) It is time to realize that the education system isn’t one size fits all. Abolish “No Child Left Behind” and standardized testing.

2) To curl the drop out rate is to empower that student. Students involved in extracurricular activities are less likely into gangs and drugs. Female students are less likely to be pregnant in high school. Encouraging at risk students to be involved in something. Adding reasonable points to their grade would help. Also, encourage work programs for the least wealthy students.

3) Add more “hands on” education to the curriculum. Not everyone is going to be a doctor or lawyer. Nurses, plumbers, barbers, cooks, and even farmers are needed.

4) Remove political and religious extremism from the public education. If Sexually explicated material are banned, then banned Abortion posters with dead babies as well. Have a neutral, respectable, and honest sex education. Encourage Teen mothers to stay in school, but offer night classes or home schooling as an alternative.

5) Gang members and drug dealers in schools are required to be placed into “Scared Straight” programs (ie; spending the night at a cold funeral home).

6) Repeal HB3015

Education should be the key to freedom from poverty, oppression, hunger, suppression, and even ignorance. It should not be a key to. Our education system should be for everyone, not just for the well-to-do. A time for a New Education for the 21st century.

BIGJ vs. Joe “Pags” Pagliarulo

It seem to me that your disagreements about the President tells me more about you, than you are letting on. Pete, the gentleman who called you Monday, considered you to be a racist. Pete and people like myself may not know what is in your heart. However you statements, past or present, are suspect. One doesn’t have to say anything to be a considered a racist, it can be one’s silence on some issues that makes one a racist as well. Granted, you slammed Senator Harry Reid for his comment as you should, but a few months ago you defend and allow your listeners defend Rush Limbaugh over his “Barack the Magic Negro”. You also sat on your hands about the Texas Education Board removing minority figures from Texas textbooks. You were silent when your other fellow talk show host Sean Hannity’s friendship with New Jersey Neo-Nazi leader Hal Turner. You NEVER touch on Jesse Lee Patterson’s statements on Glenn Beck that all Blacks are socialist. You DID NOT slam Liz Cheney’s comments that the Nazi shooting of the Jewish Museum wasn’t an act of terror. You also grossed over some of the anti-black posters such as the Obama witch doctor poster ( http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2189107/obama_as_witch_doctor_sign_spurs_calls.html ), the Obama African Lion poster ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6554029 ), the threat sign, and the two slavery posters ( http://www.andrewpurcell.net/?p=546 ) ( http://www.burntorangereport.com/diary/9836/cartoonist-receives-death-threats-from-teabaggers ) . The Tea Party are no better than the Dallas based Mink Coat Mob from the late 50’s and 60’s that created these posters in 1963 ( http://www.lawsch.uga.edu/academics/profiles/dwilkes_more/images/jfk_24_flyer1.jpg) & ( http://impiousdigest.com/jfk_treason.jpg )I am NOT writing to you to defend the President. I am writing to protest against you. Before you or your staff reply with the “I am defend Obama because he is Black”. I disagree with the President over Health Care and Cap & Trade, but you do NOT see me with the “SOCIALIST/ UNAMERICAN” NAME CALLING. You and your cast at WOAI will the Father Coughings, Bruce Alger’s of the 21st century .You say that President is an elitists, maybe, but you are one too for banning people when they dared to challenge you for an one on one debate. Because of this and more, I will vote and donate my hard earn money to re-elect President Barack Obama in 2012.
